Volunteerism

"I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the community, and as long as I live,
it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.
I want to be thoroughly used up when I die,
for the harder I work, the more I live."

George Bernard Shaw

NTM Team for Dallas 'Race for the Cure,' Saturday, October 12

Saturday, October 12, the Susan G. Korman Foundation will be holding their annual Race for the Cure, benefiting breast cancer research.  I am looking for volunteers to create a team from NTM.  For those of you who have never participated in the event before, it is a wonderful, moving experience to walk with thousands of other women to support a cause that affects far too many of our lives.  If you have been involved before, its time to join again.

The morning begins with a 1K walk/run that is open to men and families.  This is followed by the main event, a 5K walk/run for women only.  There is a $15 registration fee, and all participants get a t-shirt and goody bag, in addition to the feeling of doing something good for others.

I need at least ten folk to sign up in order for us to qualify as a group.  If you are interested, you must let me know by September 20 so that I can get our registration packets submitted by the deadline.  Please join me in this very worthwhile endeavor.  Please see the September M-Aura for contact details.
