Oral Traditions

Some time ago I discovered the archives to the WPA Federal Writers' Project that ran from 1936 until 1940.  If you've never seen them, they are fascinating.  They took down the stories, biographies, and plain ramblings from ordinary people across the country with pseudonyms often being substituted for names and places.  Writers for this project included Zora Neale Houston, John Cheever, Ralph Ellison, Saul Bellow, Richard Wright, and May Swenson.  At the bottom of this page are links to this collection and related pages.

These are the oral traditions being shared by the members of North Texas Mensa.  Please read and enjoy.
