And, of course, very bright.
All Mensans have one common trait: an IQ in the top 2% nationwide. And, happily, we've found that a more intelligent mind tends to be a more open one.
So, no matter what you think, how you dress or for whom you vote, why not consider joining us? We number some 50,000 members in the U.S., and more than 100,000 in 100 nations worldwide. And we're always looking for new members to further enrich our diversity of abilities, interests and opinions.
We'll accept you for who you are: a unique, very smart individual.
Looking for intellectual stimulation? If you enjoy mental exercise, you'll find lots of good "workout programs" in the Mensa Bulletin, our national magazine. In the newsletters published by each of our 150 local chapters. And in the many other books and publications that are available to you as a member.
Looking for social interaction? Are you a "people person"? Then come to our local meetings, parties and get-togethers. Participate in our lectures and debates. Attend our regional events and national gatherings. There's something happening on the Mensa calendar almost daily. So, you have lots of opportunities to meet people, exchange ideas, and make interesting new friends.
Looking for others who share your special interest? Whether yours is as common as crossword puzzles or as esoteric as Egyptology, there's a Mensa Special Interest Group (SIG) for it. At present, we have more than 170 national SIGs, covering such diverse topics as chocolate, SCUBA, motorcycling, wind making, Sherlock Holmes, skydiving, theater, futurism... even tattoos.
See the complete SIG list. On the odd chance that you don't find a Mensa SIG for your particular interest, remember: as a member, you'll be free to start one.
Looking for a way to help? Do you find gratification in contributing
to the betterment of others? There are several ways to do just that as
a Mensan, including...
Sound a little intimidating? Then who not warm up first by taking our non-proctored, at-home pre-test? We'll send it to you, to complete in your own home. Then, mail it back to us for scoring. If you score in the top 5%, you'll be encouraged to take our proctored tests.
Of course, you can bypass our testing process by providing prior evidence in the form of intelligence test scores (link to a list), along with payment covering our small evaluation fee. If your evidence is accepted, you'll be invited to join.
